Founded in 1975, Swan Dust Control is a Canadian established company and a leading service provider in supplying Ontario businesses with entrance mats/ treated dust mop solutions and ancillary products, sustaining a cleaner, safer working environment for our clientele, their employees and customers. We have three locations; Waterloo, London and Brampton.
You will be responsible to perform routine and specialized maintenance of facility and equipment under minimal supervision. You will provide direct support to the production department, ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, through preventative maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and production machines ensuring all work is completed in a clean environment, while observing all safety rules and regulations. You must be flexible to change hours if needed and travel is required to other sites within Southern Ontario.
Investigate mechanical and electrical issues and create corrective action plans
Identify and troubleshoot machine irregularities
Repair, install, align, dismantle and move equipment
Maintain the building and facilities
Drive innovation and continuous improvement, utilizing your skills, observations and participation
Ensure productivity, encourage teamwork, and build department cohesiveness
Monitor day to day operations, prioritize work orders as need, and ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
Provide a high level of customer service through a proactive approach to daily plant problems and issues
Identify precise parts, materials and tools needed for specific jobs
You have 2 Plus years of maintenance work experience
You have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
You understand operating principals, as well as current health and safety legislations and policies and able to maintain a clean and organized work area and preventative maintenance
You must be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and engineering specifications
You have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. consistently and push/pull up to 300 lbs. assisted)
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are detail oriented
You have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast paced and values driven environment
Millwright, and electrical certificates would be an asset
Valid lid ‘G’ Class license with a clean Drivers Abstract
Minimum education requirements of high school diploma or GED with relevant work experience

The Route Driver Service Representative will provide route delivery services to a pre-set customer base, through the delivery and pick-up of floor mats, dust mops and other ancillary products and works independently to manage their customer base.
Duties involve, driving a company- owned cube truck to and from numerous customer stops as well as lifting and carrying clean and soiled mats and products. The Route Driver Service Representative is responsible for maintaining the customer relationships, managing invoices and payments and following up on contract re-renewals.
The ideal candidate:
- You are a dedicated driver, with a proven safety record
- You must have a valid “G” Class license with a clean Drivers Abstract
- You possess good communication skills and are able to work to tight deadlines
- You are dedicated, hardworking, a good team player and customer focused with the ability to work independently
- You demonstrate excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
- Comfortable loading and unloading mats on your route, and efficiently using trip planning aids
- Experience monitoring vehicle performance, mechanical fitness and condition
- Must be able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
- Experience driving a cube truck would be a definite asset
