Treated Dust Mops

Swan's Rental Treated Dust Mops

Swan is the largest supplier of treated mops in North America.  Our mops work great for many floor surfaces including concrete, hardwood and tile. We get dirt left behind by others.

The treatment is evenly distributed throughout the mop. This treatment enables superior pick-up and retention of dust and dirt.  It grabs the dirt and holds it, which means it isn’t released into the air. This allows for less time cleaning, and a healthier environment.  Removing dirt from the floor will protect the floor surface, avoiding scratches and damage to the surface.

Our mops come in five sizes, and there are three different mop handles to choose from.

Our mop rental and cleaning service will take the dirty mops away and replace them with clean stock.  Experience what thousands of other customers already know. Our mops are safe enough for daycares and healthcare environments.

Benefits of a Rental Mat Service

How Can Mats Protect The Floors In Your Business?

The entrance to your business has a lot of traffic, and with that foot traffic comes water, salt, and mud.  All of these factors can damage your floors.  Having clean, no-skid mats at the entrance and leading into the business can help to save your floors from damage.

Discoloration and Stains:

  • Whether that's from water, salt and mud, they leave floors looking dirty and stained.

Scratches:

  • If your floor has a finish, both salt and dirt from shoes can scratch the finish.  Once the finish is worn, the floor can be penetrated, leaving it dull and damaged.

Drying out:

  • Salt pulls moisture from the floor, further damaging it and leaving it susceptible to water and dirt.

Using a rental mat service provides you with clean mats delivered right to your business, with the dirt and salt taken away. Non-slip mats can also protect against slip and fall accidents that can be caused by wet floors.

Swan Is Dedicated To A Cleaner Environment

How Is Swan More Environmentally Responsible?

Over the last four years Swan has invested a great deal into our plant and equipment. This has resulted in a 7% decline in our electricity usage, 10% decline in our water usage and 17% decline in our gas usage.

First working with IESO we upgraded the lighting throughout the plant. Then we upgraded our hot water tank, water heater and water softeners, allowing us to be more efficient and reduce our energy costs in heating and treating our water. We removed four of our oldest washing machines and installed two new state of the art machines. On our other four washing machines, working with Gulter Industries, we invested heavily in a water recycling process. With this process, we are able to reduce our water usage when washing our mats and mops. We are proud of our team and the work they continue every day to be environmentally responsible.

Hand Sanitizers

The Importance of Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizers

Alcohol-based hand sanitizers help to deter the spread of germs and bacteria.

  • Stop the Spread of Germs: According to studies, 1 in 5 people don’t regularly wash their hands. Of those who do, 70% don’t use soap. Providing hand sanitizer in key areas (entrance of businesses, bathrooms and kitchens) makes it more likely that people will use it to kill harmful bacteria.
  • Promote Good Hygiene and Health: A healthy building is a productive one. One study in the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC) found that encouraging the use of hand sanitizers in schools reduced absenteeism by almost 20%

It’s important you use hand sanitizer properly to ensure it does the job it’s meant to do – get rid of germs before they are able to spread:

  • Don’t Use Hand Sanitizer if Your Hands are Dirty: Hand sanitizers are not meant to clean your hands.  Rather, they’re meant to disinfect residue.  Oil or dirt will prevent hand sanitizers from penetrating down to your skin.

  • Use the Right Amount: When it comes to hand sanitizer, less doesn’t mean more. You need to apply enough to thoroughly coat every part of your hands.

  • Rub It In Until Your Hands Are Dry: This way you can be sure that it has come into contact with all of the most important surfaces.

When combined with other preventative measures like proper handwashing, using hand sanitizer will help to keep you and everyone in your building protected against viruses and other illnesses.

Winter Is Coming

Why are mats and mops so important during the winter months?

Fall is coming to an end and the temperature is starting to slowly drop.  Winter weather is creeping up on us, and soon businesses will need to start thinking about ways to keep the snow and salt off of their floors.  Without proper matting, the risk of customers slipping and falling is much higher.  This is obviously something that should be avoided at all costs as the safety of your customers should be the top priority.  Plus, having mats and mops available to remove the salt stains off of your floors helps maintain a professional looking image.

Here are some of the many ways in which mats can keep your staff and customers safe during the winter months:

  • Prevent slips and falls, and reduce the risk of liability
  • Reduce daily cleaning costs by substantially minimizing tracked-in soil.  Research shows that overhead costs associated with cleaning greatly increases during the winter months.
  • Extend the lifespan of flooring surfaces
  • Help maintain a great impression with your customers.
  • With Swan, your soiled mats are picked up at your location for each service cycle, and then exchanged with clean ones.  The soiled items are brought back to our plant for professional cleaning.  It’s as easy as that.
