Over the last four years Swan has invested a great deal into our plant and equipment. This has resulted in a 7% decline in our electricity usage, 10% decline in our water usage and 17% decline in our gas usage.
First working with IESO we upgraded the lighting throughout the plant. Then we upgraded our hot water tank, water heater and water softeners, allowing us to be more efficient and reduce our energy costs in heating and treating our water. We removed four of our oldest washing machines and installed two new state of the art machines. On our other four washing machines, working with Gulter Industries, we invested heavily in a water recycling process. With this process, we are able to reduce our water usage when washing our mats and mops. We are proud of our team and the work they continue every day to be environmentally responsible.
